Dooars is settled at the foot hill of eastern Himalaya from East of Tista River bordering Darjeeling district of West Bengal State till the river Manas at the Eastern end of neighbor state Assam. Enriched with the tropical rain forest, fascinating range of flora and fauna and a unique topography in the entire Indian sub-continent, numbers of reserve forest and wildlife sanctuary is situated in Dooars area. The Major population of Dooars lives in numerous Tea states spread in entire Dooars area, mainly they are from tribal region. Major attraction of Dooars is Its Tribal culture, Wild elephant, Indian One horn Rhino and others species of wild animals.
Chapramari
Chapramari- this wild life sanctuary situated at the area of Dooars in Jalpaiguri District of West Bengal state of India and closed to Gorumara National Park. There is a great possibility for seeing verity’s of wild life and many kind of birds from the watch tower by staying in forest bungalow or by day visit on jungle visit.
Chilapata
Chilapata – There is some confusion regarding pronounce the name of this place as popularly known as “Chilapata” but in others opinion it is “Chilapota” however this place is situated in-between “Jaldapara Natonal Park” and “Buxa Tiger Reserve Forest” in Alipur Duar District of West Bengal. Enriched with verity of Flora and Fauna, also it is home of Indian one horn Rhinos. Another attraction is the ruin of “Nal Garh” which was the fort of Nal Raja in gupta dynasty at 15th century . Activity’s can be enjoyed like “Jungle Safari” by Gipsy, Boating on Bania River, Chilapata also favorite for Bird watchers.
Lataguri
Lataguri- Situated at out skirt of “Gorumara National Park” of Jalpaiguri District of West Bengal and a center point to access many destinations at surroundings as “Jungle safari” of various watch tower in Gorumara Natonal Park, and visit of “Murty” riverside ,”Chapramari Sanctuary”, “Suntale Kola”, “Jhalong & Bindu” etc.
Gazoldoba
Gazoldoba - It is a good place to spend few hours in a quiet and pleasant atmosphere in the picturesque backdrop of great Himalayan peak Kanchenjunga reflection on the river Tista, also can enjoy a country boat ride in river. Some local snacks corner is ready to welcome you with their verity. In winter season it is a good place to observe verity of migratory birds.
