Darjeeling is a town in India's West Bengal state, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resort for the British Raj elite, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or “Toy Train,” completed in 1881. It's famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes.

Darjeeling Zoo
Darjeeling Zoo – It is the only zoo of its kind in India on Himalayan Hill in natural ambiance, & was established on the year of 1953 as Himalayan zoological park and at 1975 Late- Mrs. Indira Gandhi the Prime minister of India at that time renamed it Padwja Naidu Zoological Park by the name of Ex-Governor of west Bengal. Snow Leopards, Red pandas, Tibetan wolf, and some of the endangered species of animals and birds are the main attraction.
Himalayan Mountaineering Institute
Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (H.M.I) – it is situated at Jawahar Parwat adjoining the Zoo premises , this premium Mountaineering institute H.M.I founded in 1954by the 1st Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru for the honor of 1st summit of Mt. Everest by Tenzing Norgey Serpa and Sir, Edmund Hillary. Darjeeling Ropeway
Darjeeling Ropeway – Darjeeling Rangeet valley ropeway is the 1st Cable car in India that began to carry passengers in 1968. The cable car station is 3km away from the city point; visitors can enjoy the ride of the cable car for a distance of 2.5 km and back again over the tea garden, valley with an excellent aerial view.
