Gangtok the capital city of Sikkim state in North Eastern Himalayan part of India settled at an altitude of 5600ft. The name GANGTOK means`` place on the hilltop “in local Bhutia language. Pemayangtse Monastery – it is almost 300 years old Monastery of Nyngma sect of Buddhism , this place is situated on a hill top near the tourist destination Pelling in West district of Sikkim state in India. This place can be visit as a part of sightseeing on the visit of Pelling. Stunning view of surroundings’ is another attraction from here.
Samdruptse
Samdruptse – this place is situated near Namchi the District headquarter of South Sikkim state of India and famous for its 45 meter tall statue of Guru Padmasambhaba ,the eye catching glittering golden look can be visible from long distance of many places in Sikkim State and also from part of Darjeeling and Kalimpong District of West Bengal State .
Lachung
North Sikkim is North District of Sikkim state of India and it is a paradise for nature lovers basically there are two places is famous in tourism, one is Lachen & another is Lachung both places are situated in different direction at a distance of approx 120 K.M from the State capital Gangtok, from La-chen one can enjoy the highest motorable point of Eastern Himalayan region (16,900ft) close to glassier visiting Gurudongmar Lake .At La-Chung Is a different word in our globe, people is like to address this place as the paradise of Norh Eastern Himalaya, attraction of this place is numerous species of Rhododendron Flower, Highest cliff, hot spring and grassing ground of yak , wide valley and closest snow clad mountains and virgin culture of local community
Pelling Skywalk
Pelling Skywalk –At a distance of 2.5Km from Pelling near Dubdi Monastery It is a prime attraction for visitors as India’s 1st glass bottom walking bridge which was inaugurated on 1st November 2018 to reach the 4th tallest statue of Buddha (137 ft) known as “Chenrezing” in Buddhism, visitors can experience the thrill of walking on the sky by a walk on this bridge open from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm. Ticket per head Rs 50 /-
Kanchenjunga water fall
Kanchenjunga waterfall – in 1990 it was discovered by a local person Lt Topjor Bhutia at a distance of 28 Km from Pelling and 1hr drive from Pelling it is a famous identity of this hill station of West Sikkim. This waterfall actually originated from the glacier of “Mount Kanchenjunga” and falls in a pool from approx 100 ft high and flows over the terrain also another one Rimbi Falls can be visited on the way to Kanchenjunga Falls.
Khecheopalri Lake
Khecheopalri Lake - This lake is known as wish full filling Lake and is also very holy for the Tibetan Buddhist cult. It is situated at a distance of 34 Km from Pelling, an interesting myth about this Lake is birds do not allow even a leaf to float in the crystal clear water of the holy lake if a leaf fall in Lake then birds pick it up and take it away. Visitors also can enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings of the Lake.
Tashi view point
Tashi view point – This place is situated on a hill top at a distance of 8 Km from the city point of Gangtok, the main attraction of this place is sun rise or sunset view, Mt. Kanchenjunga and some other Himalayan peaks can be visible from this place on a clear day. The surrounding view of the emerald green valley and a bird’s eye view of Gangtok city can be captured from here.
Ganesh tok
Ganesh Tok – A temple of God Ganesh is situated on the top of the hill at a distance of 7 Km from the city point of Gangtok Close to the temple there is a viewpoint also, from here you can capture a spectacular aerial view of the entire Gangtok city in a backdrop of Mt. Kanchenjunga and others peak of the Himalayan range. Very close to this place there is the Himalayan Zoological Park with some of the rare Himalayan animals can be located here (Park Sunday Closed)
Flower show
Flower show – in Gangtok city it is actually a green house, where visitors can see some rare kind Himalayan plants, bonsai, world-famous orchids of Sikkim, and other flowers. On the ridge near this place, a beautiful park is ideal to spend some time in a variety of flowers, trees,s and fountains.
Gangtok Ropeway
Gangtok Ropeway - This Ropeway (cable car) was operational in the year 2003 as an attraction for tourists and it is cover a distance of 1 Km from Deorali to Tashiling, in twin point Namnang also there. While enjoying the cable car ride over Gangtok city an excellent view of the entire city with the green valley and gorge with the River”Bhusuk chu” looks like the River of Melted silver.
Gangtok M.G.Marg
Gangtok M.G.Marg - M.G.Marg (Mahatma Gandhi Marg) actually a concept of boulevard and heart of Gangtok the capital city of Sikkim. Along with tourists local people also like to spend some time in this beautifully decorated place with a verity of shopping places, restaurants, a Musical Fountain, and other amusement options. This area is fully restricted for entire any kind of vehicle, only pedestrians are allowed to walking visit in this area.
Tshangu Lake
Tshangu Lake – Some people pronounce this place “Changu” and it is a most popular visiting place in East Sikkim, situated at an altitude of 12300ft in a distance of 36 Km from the capital of Sikkim “Gangtok”. It is an oval shape 2.5Km long glacial Lake with a depth of approx 50ft, sometime in winter the Lake becomes frozen. Visitors can enjoy rides on the back of a Yak or Pony on the snow-covered bank of the Lake. Due to situated this place in a restricted area, obtaining permission from Sikkim Govt. Department is a must for every visitor.
Baba Mandir
Baba Mandir - This place is situated at an altitude of 13100ft and a distance of 16Km from Tshangu Lake. It is not a religious temple for worship, it was built by the Indian Army and dedicated in respect to the army personnel Baba Harbhajan Singh a 26-year sepoy of the Punjab Regiment who Died in his duty during night patrolling but folk myth he is still the date doing his duty sincerely by invisibly and always protecting the border area with encouraging other solders.
